Trading carries a real and substantial risk of loss. Please read this disclosure in full before you subscribe to or rely on anything Helmsman publishes.
Helmsman Markets Ltd. ("Helmsman", "we", "us") operates a research service that publishes trade ideas and a position-sizing framework. This Risk Disclosure explains the risks of trading financial instruments and of using our service. By creating an account or subscribing, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted it.
The purpose of this document is to make sure you understand, in plain language, that trading is risky and that Helmsman cannot remove that risk. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If anything here is unclear, do not subscribe until you have sought independent guidance.
Everything Helmsman publishes — trade ideas, signals, confidence scores, research notes and simulator output — is general information and educational content. It is not personalised investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and it does not take into account your individual objectives, financial situation, experience or needs.
We do not know your full circumstances, and we are not acting as your broker, adviser, fiduciary or portfolio manager. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to act on any signal, and for every order you place.
Trading crypto, forex, stocks, commodities and indices involves a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You should be prepared to lose some, or potentially all, of the capital you commit. In particular:
Helmsman is deliberately not a broker, exchange, custodian or wallet. We never receive, hold, control or transfer your funds. Every trade is placed by you, on accounts you own and control. Any relationship with a broker or exchange is between you and that provider, and is governed by their terms — not ours.
Some markets and instruments we cover may be traded with leverage or as derivatives (for example CFDs, futures or margined positions). Leverage magnifies both gains and losses, and can result in losses that exceed your initial deposit. With certain leveraged products it is possible to lose more than you invested. You are responsible for understanding the specific product, leverage and margin terms offered by your own provider before trading.
A Helmsman signal is our research view at a point in time. It is not a recommendation that you will profit, a promise of any outcome, or a prediction we can stand behind. Confidence scores express relative conviction within our framework — they are not probabilities of success and not assurances of any kind.
Markets change after a signal is published. Entry prices, conditions and the underlying thesis may no longer hold by the time you act. You should always apply your own judgement.
Past performance does not guarantee or indicate future results. Where we display historical figures — win rates, returns, equity curves, drawdowns or similar — these are based on logged signals and/or simulation under our stated risk framework.
You should also be aware of risks outside anyone's control, including: rapid volatility and price gaps; periods of low liquidity where orders fill at worse prices; slippage between an intended and an actual fill; outages or delays at exchanges, brokers or data providers; and the impact of fees, spreads and funding costs, which can be especially significant on smaller accounts. Notification or delivery delays may also mean a setup has moved by the time you receive it.
Before subscribing, honestly assess whether trading on the basis of third-party research suits your experience, risk tolerance and financial position. Helmsman does not assess your suitability and does not screen members for it. If you are unsure, you should seek advice from an independent, appropriately licensed financial professional in your jurisdiction.
By using Helmsman you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Risk Disclosure, that you accept full responsibility for your own trading decisions and their outcomes, and that Helmsman is not liable for trading losses you may incur. This disclosure should be read together with our Terms of Service.

In short: trade only what you can afford to lose, every decision is yours, and no result is promised. Helmsman gives you research and a discipline framework — it cannot give you certainty.
